TOKIO HOTEL AMERICAN TOUR FAN-ACTION!!!For anybody planning to attend any of the North America tour dates!!The North American tour is a chance for Tokio Hotel
and label executives alike to test the waters of the American fanbase. Let's show them that we love our boys!!!
PROJECT SIGNDuring the chorus of two appropriate songs*, I will hold up a sign. My sign will have a PINK BACK, so all behind me (because I
will be in the front) can see that I'm holding my sign up.
When you see the pink, hold up your sign, too!If the band and their label sees how many devoted fans have poured
hundreds of dollars and hours of planning into attending these
concerys, we're sure to leave a GREAT impression!!!
*Appropriate songs, depending on the setlist, may be Ready Set Go and/or By Your Side; however, this is subject to change based on the setlist. Just
keep an eye out for the PINK SIGN!
THE DETAILSThe signs MUST all be uniform in size, wording, and color (with the exception of the BACK of my sign). We're looking to make a statement: many concertgoers bring signs, and
we want to stand out with our unity. If all the signs are different,
the band won't notice that this is a concerted effort to show our
support!
Therefore, I have devised a set of guidelines for
creating your sign. Please read on! However, keep in mind that my
German MAY be incorrect, so don't go making the signs right away. Wait
a few days, so that German-speakers can get in here to correct me
first.
IF YOU ARE LOCAL TO THE VENUELocal, in this case, means that you live
within 100km (62mi) of the venue.
Your sign will be 15" tall and 24" wide. These dimensions are so the
people behind you can see; any larger, and you risk irritating a LOT of
fellow fans!
Please use white posterboard and black marker, for maximum legibility!*
*We want the band to be able to READ these signs, and if you've got green
letters on orange poster board, the contrast of background and
foreground won't be as high and the band won't be able to see your sign
as easily!
Local fans' signs will look like this:
TOKIO HOTEL,
DANKE
SCHÖN
"TOKIO HOTEL" and "SCHÖN" should be roughly the same size, "DANKE" should be the largest word on the poster, and all should be centered.
IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING TO THE VENUETravelling, in this case, means that you travelled
more than 100km (62mi) to the venue.
Your sign will be 15" tall and 24" wide. These dimensions are so the
people behind you can see; any larger, and you risk irritating a LOT of
fellow fans!
Please use white posterboard and black marker, for maximum legibility!*
*We want the band to be able to READ these signs, and if you've got green
letters on orange poster board, the contrast of background and
foreground won't be as high and the band won't be able to see your sign
as easily!
Travelling fans' signs will look like this:
ICH FUHR
x.xxx km
FÜR EUCH
"ICH FUHR" and "FÜR EUCH" should be roughly the same size, the number of
kilometers you're travelling should be the largest thing on the poster,
and all should be centered.
Of course, you'll want to replace the "x.xxx" in my example with however many kilometers you're travelling. For best results, go to maps.google.com, and type the following: "from: [your home address] to: [the venue's address]", then copy the miles and use a miles-to-kilometers conversion tool (easily found on Google) to get the number of kilometers you're travelling.
Also, PLEASE keep in mind that, in Germany, they don't use commas in large
numbers, they use periods. So, instead of, say, "4,000", you would want
to write "4.000"; it's a minor detail, but it'll make us look good.
FINAL REMARKSWhy am I being so precise?Because chaos can happen accidentally. If all of the posters are
uniform, the band can't possibly miss that this is intentional! If you
want to bring a poster that doesn't fit with these guidelines, I can't
stop you, of course, but just know that the statement will be SO MUCH
MORE powerful if we've all got the same sign.
Is my German incorrect?PLEASE, if you speak German (fluently!), and you notice an error in my
German, correct me! There's nothing more embarrassing than trying to
speak a language to a native speaker, and failing. It just makes them
laugh at you.
Are you going to the New York, Toronto, or Montreal shows? If you're interested in being the PINK SIGN HOLDER for any of these
concerts, please contact me ASAP so I can help you be a good leader for
the fan-action at your concert (including which songs to choose, how to
get people to see you, etc.)!
ANY other questions??Please comment! I want feedback on this fan-action, so I can make it
the best it can be! This is Tokio Hotel's first American tour, and I
want this to go perfectly!
Thank you so much for
reading all of that, if you managed to get through it all. I'm sorry it
got so long! Again, please feel free to comment with any suggestions
you may have. I want this to be a community effort, not me parading
around going, "Blah, blah, blah, listen to me!!!1!".
